Trasitions!

Hello All,

It has been awhile since I last updated the blog. So much has happened in the lives of our family over the past few months!

Scott - After working a little over a year as the Human Resource Manager at Home Depot, Scott decided retail wasn't his cup of tea. After four months of interviews and background checks, he has secured a job at TSA (Transportation Security Agency) as the Human Resource Manager at Fairbanks Airport. His first day was Monday. This is an exciting move for him, and he has a regular Monday - Friday, 7:30 to 4:00 shift. Praise Jesus!! Today is an official Alaskan holiday.......moose hunting season opens. If you listen closely, I'm sure you can hear the joyful sobs of men, young and old, throughout this great state! Scott and I recently celebrated or 20th wedding anniversary. What a ride!! I can hardly wait to see what God has in store for us through the next 20 years.

Julie - I had such a blast working at North Pole Christian School - first as their junior high teacher, then as preschool teacher, and most recently running the summer program. I thought I would be employed there throughout Jonathan's school years, but God has different plans. I was offered a job at my church about a month ago to help start up a new full-time preschool program. Our church has been praying about this for years and has been working on a new building to house the school - kids conneXion. Even though the building isn't finished yet, we believe God has called us to begin this ministry in the church building. We are all very excited, and the first day is Sept. 7th. If you want to know more about it (and keep us uplifted in your prayers), please visit our website at http://www.moosecreekbaptist.org/. Our vision is to add a Kindergarten class next year, a 1st/2nd grade class the following year, and so on. This is a huge step of faith for everyone involved, and it is thrilling! I'm almost done with completing the classes I need to earn my Early Childhood Education Certificate. I'm going through an awesome Christian college called Vanguard University. The classes are phenominal, and if anyone is interested in working with preschool children, I highly recommend you check out this college.

Kaylee - Kaylee is starting her Sophomore year in college. She has moved back home! We are very excited; she was missed. It just got a little too expensive for her living in Anchorage. She has a few more classes to take before she can apply for nursing school. She was blessed with a job in Anchorage as a certified nursing assistant working with senior citizens. She has applied for some CNA positions up here at the hospital and is waiting to hear back. Kaylee has started learning to play guitar and has joined the church priase team. We are all very happy to have her back home.

Jackie - Our baby girl turned 18 in July! She is now a senior at North Pole High School and is working on getting her driver's license. She still has her job at Safeway and uses much of her money to buy Manga books. She still wants to move to Tokyo after a year of college.......I'm continuing to hope it's just a phase. She is looking into going to pastry chef school at the local community college after graduation. She loves baking and is rather artistic. I think she would like working in a bakery making yummy things for me to try.

Jonathan - This little man is about to turn five years old in October! He is a whirlwind of energy and non-stop chatter. Johnnie will be going to preschool with me at kids conneXion which he is excited about. I love the time I get to spend with him in school, and, praise God, he enjoys having me for his teacher. This little guy has grown so much since we adopted him! I think he's in another growing spurt because if he isn't talking, he's eating, and sometimes he's doing both. Jonathan loves books. We read to him every night, and his current favorite is his dinasaur book - A to Z. After many, many reads, I'm finally learning how to pronounce some of the names! He is excited about our upcoming church camp out at Camp Baldwin (in Delta). Our church has reserved this camp (with cabins - thank you Jesus) over Labor Day Weekend. Jonathan and I will be going Saturday and Sunday. Scott will be hunting, Jackie working, and Kaylee has school, but Johnnie and I are going to join our church familily for some great fun.

I love the craziness of life. I love the transitions. We praise God for our friends and family. Even though we don't get to talk often because of everyone's busy schedules, please know that we pray for you and that we are thankful to have you in our lives. Take some time today to love on God and thank Him for your many, many blessings.

In His Awesome Name,

The Watsons
